WAW130 ~ Galatians 6:9 ~ Let Us Not Be Weary

Image
Welcome!  It's time for another  fabulous and inspirational challenge at Word Art Wednesday.
Check out the Word Art Wednesday site for all of the details including this week's digital scripture, how to link your creation AND info on some fabulous prizes!  A special thank you to Flying Unicorn and Pink Persimmon for providing our prizes this week!  We appreciate your sponsorship so much!

And here is my card for the week featuring a beautiful verse from Galatians.

I used a kraft card stock base with a slightly smaller black CS mat.  I printed the scripture directly on a worn looking DP by Glitz, slightly off center.  I used a paper crimper on some scraps of kraft paper and created a banner accented with jute, die cut leaves, a scrap of lace and an aged blossom.  So easy!

Don't forget to stop back by Thursday to see what I have for Our Daily Bread Designs' Release day!  It promises to be fun!

Today's card was based on a sketch shown here...

Good afternoon!  I'm popping in to share a quick project I pulled together for this week's Mojo Monday project.  It appears that nautical is all the rage right now.

For this project I opted to use Kraft, navy and dark red card stock along with some fun papers from The Paper Studio. Here's the sketch I used today.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Be sure to stop back by this week as I have a new project for Word Art Wednesday AND Thursday will be release day at Our Daily Bread Designs.  It promises to be a busy week! Challenges MOJO342

Today I have a card to share featuring this week's Seize the Sketch.  I decided to use a soft moss green and navy blue since I used a dragonfly image near the scripture panel.
I began with a soft moss color card stock for my base, adding a white matting.  I added a navy mat before the final DP layer (2 coordinating designs) from Our Daily Bread Designs' Christian Faith Collection.  I lightly distressed the edges.  I stamped the sentiment (The Cross) on white card stock with a soft green ink.  After cutting the panel and navy frame, I added a white border (Beautiful Borders) to cover the DP seam and die cut vines (Fancy Foliage).  I added a few mulberry roses as well.  I stamped the dragonfly image (Dragonfly Mini) on Copic compatible paper and colored it.  I then hand cut the image and added a bit of glitter glue to the wings.  Once it dried, I slightly bent the "wings" and added it to my panel with dimensional foam.  Here are some of the products you see... Welcome!  It's time for another  fabulous and inspirational challenge at Word Art Wednesday.
Check out the Word Art Wednesday site for all of the details including this week's digital scripture, how to link your creation AND info on some fabulous prizes!  A special thank you to Moonlighting Etsy Store & Paper Temptress for providing our prizes this week!  And a special shout out to Paper Temptress for providing ALL of the FABULOUS papers I used on my project today.

Here it is...

For the base I chose Paper Temptress' White Velvet and added matting from Yellow Crepe and Deep Blue Crepe.  When cut they have a wonderful distressed edge which I chose to accentuate.  I then printed the sentiment onto Opal Mica (the Metallics collection) and cut it down to size before embossing.  I just LOVE how crisp the embossing looks!  I then stamped my leaves and blossoms on the same Opal Mica and hand cut each one.  I added them with adhesive and set a few microbeads in dimensional glaze …

Welcome!  Today, I have a card featuring Our Daily Bread Designs' Chalkboard Paper Collection.  I love sets that pull it all together for you!  This set even includes sentiment panels.  This set is perfect to just cut and go!  I can't wait to show you! I started with a black card stock base and added a white mat.  I chose the Swiss dot DP print for my base layer.  I inked up a border image from Our Daily Bread Designs' Ornate Borders and Flowers set with black on white card stock.  I then used the coordinating Ornate Borders & Flower Die to cut it and placed it over two borders (ODBD's Beautiful Borders die) woven together with burgundy satin ribbon.  I cut the sentiment (found in the Chalkboard Paper Collection) out with the coordinating ODBD die, Vintage Flourish Pattern.  A bit of greenery (from the Fancy Foliage die) and mulberry rose are nestled at each corner.  I LOVE the distressed feel of this one!  :-) So here are the products you see...

Welcome!  And thank you so much for stopping by!  This weekend marks one of the most holy in the Christian calendar.  Yesterday, I had the distinct pleasure of looking back at Our Daily Bread Designs' April release.  And the project featured a wonderful die cut cross.  Today, I would like to focus on a quote that points directly to the impact of that cross.  The stamp comes from ODBD's The Cross set.
I began with a simple kraft base and a white card stock mat.  The DP is from Our Daily Bread Designs' Blooming Garden Collection.  I stamped the sentiment on kraft paper with a dark brown ink and heavily distressed the paper.  (In case you can't tell, I wrinkled, crinkled and practically ran over top the paper to get it to look this way...)  I then curled back the top over a lead pencil (to mimic a scroll) and added some jute.  I tied a bow and adhered the sentiment panel to the card.  I added a white card stock die cut cross with dimensional foam.  I really like this card …

A Look Back at Our Daily Bread Designs' April Release...

Good morning!  I hope you are having a wonderful Good Friday!  Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs' April Release.  And with Easter just a few days away, I have a project I would like to share.
I created a 5.5 by 4.25 inch card base with chocolate card stock.  I added an ecru layer stamped with the Chalkboard Lattice Background in chocolate colored ink.  I distressed and inked the edges before adhering it.  I used the Flourish Labels Border stamp and coordinating Vintage Flourish Pattern Die to create the ecru layer underneath the cross and the chocolate layer in the middle.  The cross (2 layers) can be found in the Ornamental Crosses Die set.  I added a few bits of greenery (Fancy Foliage Die) and a few mulberry roses.  The final touch...  an ecru pearl spray, cut and placed strategically around the focal panel.  So pretty!  So here are the products you see in today's project.

Happy Thursday!  I am so glad you stopped to visit!  Tomorrow marks the day Christians celebrate Good Friday.  In honor of that special day, I would like to share a card with a bit of scripture that says it all. This is one of the largest cards I have worked with in a while.  The card base is white CS and measures 6 by 6.  I added a slightly smaller layer of royal blue mirror paper.  To create the bottom die cut, I used four cuts from the Decorative Corners Die overlapping them to created the die base.  I then added the Quatrefoil Design Die in the same royal blue paper, split in two and adhered to the scripture panel.  For the scripture panel, I stamped my sentiment (The Cross) on white card stock, followed with Flourish Label Borders and finally cut it with Vintage Flourish Pattern Die.  I added twigs (Fancy Foliage Die) and a few mulberry roses to finish it off.  Lots of delicious layers to enjoy here!  Here's the products you see.

Thanks for stopping by! ((hugs)) Don't forget …

Welcome!  It's time for another  fabulous and inspirational challenge at Word Art Wednesday.

This week, Christians celebrate Good Friday and Easter.  I often think that we focus so much on the joy of the Resurrection that we forget the pain that Jesus endured before and during his Crucifixion.  He overcame death and through his sacrifice we can too.  However, he paid a terrible price.  The striking part...  he WILLINGLY laid down his life for you and I.  He knew our failings, shortcomings and sin.  AND HE DID IT ANYWAY!  That is a testament to true love!  Hallelujah!

I hope you have a wonderful and blessed Easter!

TSTR214 - " Easter Sweetness" at The Shabby Tea Room

Image
Welcome!  I'm so very happy you could stop by!  I am so excited to share a special project I created for this week's challenge at The Shabby Tea Room.   Debbie graciously asked me to guest design this week.  And when I took a look at the challenge, I fell in love!  This week our challenge is called "Easter Sweetness."  The challenge...  create a card/project inspired by the photo below and INCLUDE POLKA DOTS AND STRIPES! And here's my interpretation using some fun items fromPaper Sweeties. My card base is a soft pink card stock with white matting.  I then layered a soft pink swiss dot DP with a soft blue stripe on the opposite side.  All edges are distressed.  I covered the seam where the two joined with white seam binding and adhered them to my white matting.   The next layer is a simple Wilton doily affixed squarely in the middle.  I then placed a piece of  floral/newspaper print DP (also distressed) in the middle.  I placed it slightly askew for interest.  I adde…

Good Friday morning!  Can you believe that Easter is just a few short weeks away????  For today's project I pulled out one of my favorite colors, purple and created a little something for a king.  A wonderful project perfect to celebrate a risen Savior...
I nestled a layer of purple card stock on top of the white base (4.25 by 5.5) before adding a die cut layer using Our Daily Bread Designs' Vintage Flourish Die.  I used the Flourish Labels Borders stamp with black ink to line the inner panel.  I used the Ornamental Crosses Die to create the delicate focal cut and draped a swath of purple satin ribbon over it.  Very simple indeed.  Here are the products I used on today's project. Good morning!  What a lovely day in the neighborhood!  I think I will change into a well worn cardigan and soft canvas sneaks before we begin...  Won't you be my neighbor???  ;-)  Grab a cup of your favorite coffee and settle in for a bit.  I have a wonderful card to share using some of the new Chalkboard Paper Collection from Our Daily Bread Designs.  Chalkboard continues to be all the rage!  I see it in craft and hobby stores every time I stop in.  The beauty of these papers...  they are just beautiful!  They already look aged and so COOL!  I started with a simple black card stock base (5.5 by 4.25) and added a white CS mat.  I used the lattice chalkboard print for my main layer and added some of the swiss dot (also double matted) to one side.  I stamped my sentiment (from Scripture Collection 12) with red ink on white card stock before using the new Vintage Pattern Die.  Before removing the die, I lightly inked the edges with a black distress ink.  Since the focal layer looks l…
