ODBD ~ I Am Praying ~

Image
Early one morning, I puttered out to my car to shuttle off to work.  It was so early in fact, that it was still pitch dark outside.  I hopped in, started the engine and put my car in reverse to back my car up and leave my driveway.  My car has a backup camera and so as I rolled the car backward the familiar black and white screen came to life.  But what I saw on that screen almost caused me to have a heart attack!  All I could see on the screen was a large hairy blob with large hairy legs!  It took me a moment to realize that a tiny little spider was hanging on my camera.  And that tiny spider when magnified looked like something from a HORROR movie!  After I gathered my wits I realized just how true that moment was in the human experience.  Sometimes we take the tiniest of deals and blow them completely out of proportion UNTIL we are utterly terrorized by the idea of how big the problem is!  But the key is...  the problem really isn't that big...  WE JUST MADE IT OUT TO BE THAT W…

ODBD ~ Such a Blessing ~

Image
Yes, indeed!  What a blessing!  Thank you so much for taking a few moments to stop by and share your day.  Today, I would like to share not only a project but a special Bible verse that has been on my heart.
"And He has filled them with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding and in knowledge and in all craftsmanship..."   Exodus 35:31  NASB
God's people, led by Moses, were preparing the Tabernacle.  And God had gifted certain people in the group with all sorts of skills...  from embroidery to weaving, from working with gold to cutting gems and wood carving...  Every possible skill and talent was represented in that group!  God gave each and every one of those gifts, knowing that they would return fruit one day.  The talents, He so graciously bestowed, were used to build his Temple...  the most amazing place of it's time...  a beautiful, amazing place that God could call home when he came to his people.  It was not only a place designed to house God but to wor…

ODBD ~ You Can't "Resist" Knit ~

Image
Good morning and welcome!  I pray you had a marvelous weekend and that Monday wasn't too hard on ya!  If you are like me, I spent most of Monday trying to tie up loose ends from the week before.  And one of those loose ends including tidying up my craft desk and lining up a few new "posts" to share.
Today's card, features a technique I have tried before but decided to revisit with Our Daily Bread Designs' September release.
I couldn't "resist" it!   **SORRY**  :-)

This is probably one of my all time favorite passages from Psalms.  When I think about how much love and care God put into his creation and each and everyone in it...  it just takes my breath away!
I started with a rich blue card stock (4.25 x 5.5 inch card face) and added a slightly smaller white matting.  A bit of blue matting frames my resist panel.
I used white card stock for my resist panel, stamping both doily images (Doily Blessings and Birthday Doily) with Versamark.  I added whi…

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!
This week we are visiting the book of Revelations...

This week, I needed a card with more of a masculine feel.  I pulled out some Close To My Heart Scraps and went to work.  My card base is 5.5 x 4.25 inches.  I printed the scripture on plain white card stock and used an oval die to cut it.  I added a couple of aqua colored adhesive dew drops to the bottom of the panel.  A bit of chevron themed ribbon over my Diamond embossed panel gives it a rough and ready look.  Perfect f…

~ Birthday Blessings ~ September and More From ODBD

Image
Good morning!  So glad you could stop by!  Today I have a shabby chic card to share using a menagerie of products and techniques.  Glitter, paint and even hairspray went into this creation...  so fun and oh so messy!  :-) I started with a simple black card stock base. (5.5 x 4.25 inches to be exact...)  I added a slightly smaller DP from Our Daily Bread Designs' Soulful Stitches Paper Collection.  The edges were distressed with a distress tool and lightly inked with a pale khaki distress ink.  I stamped the doily image on ecru card stock (Doily Blessings) and used the coordinating Doily Die (mat image) to cut the image in shadow and the intricate die to cut/emboss a doily in black CS.  I layered both (slightly off center of each other to show the design).  I cut the heart out of thin cardboard (Ornate Hearts Die) and slathered it with shades of brown distress ink and white crackle paint.  I used my heat gun to speed the drying process and managed a slightly "cooked" look.…
