~ Our Daily Bread Designs ~Heartfelt Counsel~

Image
Good morning friends!  Hot weather has given way to rain showers in my part of the world.  This is a welcome relief for my parched backyard.  Cracks in the earth are drinking in sweet provisions from heaven and the Saints...  they are loving the reappearance of mud puddles!
Rain allows me to focus on inside chores like laundry and cleaning.  I have been working on a few minor changes in my dining room and hope to add a fresh coat of paint in the coming days.  It is amazing what a bit of rearranging, refinishing and restoring can do to a space.  After 12 years in our home, I find myself longing to mix things up a bit.  So as I spruce up the house and slather on some new paint, I wonder when was the last time I added some "fresh paint" to spruce things up in my spiritual house.  When was the last time I did an in depth Bible study, read a great Faith based book, watched a family movie or spent dedicated time in His word?  I guess a fresh coat of paint is always in order.  Pa…

Our Daily Bread Designs - A Friend Loves at All Times

Image
Good morning!  It has been so hot here the last few days.  The Saints are determined to stay in.  They give me this look like...  hey Mom, we like snow not this...  So while they lounge under the nearest shade tree, I am working on cards...
And here is one featuring Our Daily Bread Designs' A True Friend stamp set and Ornate Ovals Die...

This time I opted to color my Iris a rich blue purple...  using a few of my favorite Copic colors... B63, B79, G21, YG67 and Y17 Since I didn't have the mid tone color between B63 and B79... I improvised.  I picked up some of the darker shade on the tip of the lighter...  and colored away...  Perfect way to make your Copic collection go further!
So here is a layer by layer break down of today's card... Purple Card Stock (CS) 4.25 by 11 inches, scored and folded at 5.5 inches Silver Poster Board cut and embossed with ODBD's Pierced Rectangles DieWhite CS - cut and embossed with ODBD's Lavish Layers DiePurple CS - ODBD's Pierced…

Word Art Wednesday Challenge 240 and 241

Image
Good morning and welcome to a new bi-weekly challenge at Word Art Wednesday!  Has it been raining in your part of the world?  We have seen a few days of not so sunny skies.  I must say, I saw the most amazing rainbow recently and thought a similar design would be perfect with this week's scripture...

This week, I started with a 5.5 x 4.25 inch white card stock base and added a chevron layer of DP (Pebbles Garden Party.)  I cut and embossed a white card stock base with a pierced rectangle die after printing today's scripture panel.  I added chalk swooshes (in ROY G. BIV) order after printing.  A few die cut clouds and sun finish it off.
Items you see used today...

Good morning!!!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Today I have a simple card using silver poster board, white and black card stock along with some fun papers from Our Daily Bread Designs.  Plus it features the new July stamp release, You Bless Me.  I chose a very simple color scheme for this...  I wanted the image and sentiment to shine...

I stamped the sentiment on white card stock with a soft gray ink before adding my sentiment with a bold black.  The image is a beautiful glad...  one of my favorite summer flowers...

I love how this image can be colored and yet look so elegant with a simple outline... Here is one of the new dies from this month's release that I used also...

SO let's get into the specifics...   Layer by layer...

Word Art Wednesday Challenge #238 and #239

Image
Good morning and welcome to a new bi-weekly challenge at Word Art Wednesday!  I am still loving the red, white and blue papers I am seeing as of late.  So today, I pulled out some floral designs to work with.  I also opted to go with a cleaner look...  a bit more white space...

I started with a plain card stock base measuring 4.25 x 5.5 inches and added a fun pattern DP from Anna Griffin's Madison Paper pad.  I printed my scripture on white card stock and cut it down adding a slightly larger blue mat.  I pulled out a Stampin' Up stamp (Timeless Treasures) and added a but of distressed stamping with Sahara Sand ink.  I tied up a twine bow (maybe from the dollar bin at Michaels...) and added a simple ecru mulberry flower.  A few sequins adorn the corner....  (the white space scared me...  lol)

Thanks as always for joining me!  Don't forget to visit the WAW Blog to check out what the other designers have created.  Plus you can play along for the chance to win some fun prizes!
